CROSSROADS ON THE ROAD TO THE CROSS
On Tuesday of this week, the Golden Oldies met for a morning of friendship, encouragement and delicious Easter treats.
It was a musical morning. We journeyed through the Easter story, tracking the account of Jesus’s road to the cross in Matthew’s gospel. We paused throughout the journey to sing precious Easter songs.
Along the journey, we met people who faced their own crossroads on the road to the cross – Judas (the betrayer), Peter (the disowner), Simon (the helper), the Centurion (the realisation) etc. We ended with the moving account of the angel’s words to the women at the tomb … “Come and see … go and tell!” We were reminded that because Jesus walked the road to the cross, suffered, died and rose again … our sins have been dealt with and we have the hope of heaven. Jesus will meet us at whatever crossroads we might face this side of heaven.
