Singing together as a congregation is an integral part of our Sunday services at Christ Church Somerset West. It forms part of the “Word Ministry” of our church.
“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.”
Colossians 3:16
We strive to sing songs together as a church community that express the truths about God and His Gospel, as well as the sound doctrines of the Bible. Singing together as a congregation is one way in which we can praise and worship God in our lives. We sing to God with grateful hearts, and we also sing about God to one another, for the mutual encouragement, strengthening, and edification of the congregation, and we sing together in response to the teaching and preaching of God’s Word.
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
Hebrews 10: 24-25
