MISSION PRAYER MEETING BETWEEN THE SERVICES

Just under 20 people gathered between the services this past Sunday to pray for our CCSW mission partners at what will now be a regular feature of our church life together. This prayer slot was introduced as an addition to the regular monthly Tuesday evening slot that has been taking place for many years.

Freddy Ward started off by reading from Acts 1 and reminding us that prayer is hard work – it does not come naturally.  The church, however, is God’s chosen means to reach the ends of the earth with the gospel. No missionary would expect any fruit from their work, or dare be out in service, without the prayer support of the church.

We split into groups of 3 to 5 people and this month, after a brief introduction to each, focussed our prayers on the Churches for Namibia (with Ross Bartholomew - encouraging, developing and training the leadership of the REACH Namibia Evangelical Churches) and The Student Y (ministry to students on the UCT campus). We were greatly blessed by the time together and look forward to seeing how God moves to answer these prayers.

Join us for the next meetings:

·       Tuesday evening meeting: 13 August, 19:30-20:30 at the church

·       Sunday between the services: next date to be confirmed
