NEW MISSIONS PARTNERS - STUART AND ADELE BARROW
Between the morning services this past Sunday, we hosted Stuart and Adele Barrow from The Lighthouse Academy in Villiersdorp.
Having identified a huge deficit in educational facilities in their area, Stuart and Adele started this ministry. The Lighthouse Academy’s mission is to provide excellent education with a strong Christian foundation, to local children in Villiersdorp. The children are cared for emotionally, physically and spiritually during their school days as they are educated, fed and looked after in a gentle environment where the gospel is central to their activties.
The children are at school from 7h30-17h00 each day. Adele is the principal of the school and currently has 6 staff working with her. She is looking to hire an additional 2 in 2024, as the school grows.
Adele has chosen a Christian curriculum, which she is adapting to the South African context. It has a strong play-based focus.
Currently it costs R2,000 per child per month to attend this school. Parents pay R400 per month, so the balance needs to be made up through fund-raising.
The Lighthouse Academy is a registered NPO and so donations are tax-deductible.
We will be supporting Stuart and Adele as mission partners as CCSW. Please pray for them as they navigate both the joys and challenges of this ministry – especially that God would provide for them in 2024.
