TIME

It’s been a chaotic week with the refurbishment and painting of the old church building. There have been many interruptions which have tested our patience. Most of us don’t like being interrupted, it effects productivity and we easily get frustrated. After all “My time is my time” - and there is a sermon to prepare. However, interruptions are necessary, not just to get other important things done, but to teach us a lesson. If God is in control, not only of the big events of world history, but the details my life, then my time is NOT my time… my time is his time!

Time is money, and my time was bought at a price, the costly blood of Jesus, and so belongs to him. Viewed this way, every interruption is a necessary interruption, a reminder that we don’t ultimately control our schedules and calendars. Then, instead of being frustrated, we will be asking: “Why this interruption… what is God’s purpose in this?” Now to my sermon!

Yours in Christ
Gavin
