CHRISTMAS SHOEBOX CHALLENGE

At Christmas we remember that God the Father sent His Son to this earth and that is the greatest gift of all. In our culture we give presents to one another, but there are many children in South Africa who do not receive a gift at Christmas.

One of our church missionaries, Kenny and Rose Lloyd, work with the children of Airport Valley in Port Elizabeth. These children are underprivileged  and many of them do not receive a present at Christmas. That is why we came up with the Christmas shoebox challenge for the Airport Valley boys and girls. The children from Kids Club and Children's Church filled up a shoebox for each of the children that attend the ministry of Kenny and Rose Lloyd. They've put some pencils, notebooks, toothpaste, toothbrush, other practical things and a wow-item in it. But also a personal note to wish them a blessed Christmas.

The children made a box specifically for another child. They did this so they could pray for that child and that the boy or girl would have a blessed Christmas, but most of all that he or she would receive Jesus as their King and Saviour, the greatest gift of all.

On Thursday the 22nd of December, the children received their shoeboxes. The following message was sent: "We have received the Christmas box yesterday and we went to hand them out to the children. They very happy πŸ™Œ... And we thank God for you Guys. This is very special to them. To everyone I would say thank you and Happy Christmas πŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒ"

What a blessing to them and to our children at +CSW as well!
