GETTING TO KNOW LINDO NYIDE
A few weeks ago we welcomed Lindo Nyide, our new Children’s Worker to CCSW.
Lindo has moved down from Johannesburg to join the staff team here.
It was lovely to drink a cappuccino with Lindo this week and get to know her better. She loves coffee – that’s a great start!
Lindo was born in Pietermaritzburg. She grew up in the Methodist church, where she heard the gospel faithfully preached each week. She finished matric at Pietermaritzburg Girl’s High where she was a boarder.
Lindo left school passionate about Children’s Work, but unaware at that stage that a career in Children’s Work was an option, so she moved to study at UCT and joined St Stephen’s Church in Claremont. While there, under the discipleship of Jo Taylor, she realised that she could pursue full-time ministry as a Children’s Worker and moved to study at GWC.
After a season at GWC, she relocated to Johannesburg to join the staff team at Christ Church Fourways, a REACH church plant of Christ Church Midrand. She was the Children’s Worker there for many years, before joining Hope Church Auckland Park.
Lindo has a close relationship with her brother and sister-in-law and is a passionate aunty to two young nieces. She misses them terribly!
Lindo is naturally an introvert, so prefers smaller groups of people that she can get to know well. She loves going out for coffee and being near water – so walking on the beach, or meandering on the Paardevlei boardwalk are definitely outings she’ll be exploring.
Please pray for Lindo as she settles into life at CCSW – that she would find deep friendships and feel part of the family here.
