GOLDEN OLDIES
The theme of this month’s Golden Oldies meeting, held on Tuesday 17 October, was “A trip down memory lane - celebrating 30 years of Christ Church.”
It was a thoroughly enjoyable morning of memories as four of our ladies - Wendy Heyns, Barbie Barnard, Judy Rossiter, and Lizette Benson - shared something of the founding of Christ Church and their personal journeys over the church’s 30 years. Each had uplifting stories of their walk with the Lord, some fun “snippets”, some emotional times, and thankfulness to the Lord for sustaining them and their families through these past 30 years of Christ Church. Lizette shared how she started Golden Oldies, and the fun times they had had, including some great outings together.
On this “memorable morning” there was also an opportunity for all the ladies to share their own reminiscences and blessings with each other, while being served a lovely cup of tea and delicious eats. We thank the Lord for Christ Church, its people, and godly leadership over its existence. God has surely blessed us through his goodness and mercy!
As the morning drew to a close, appropriately we sang the beautiful hymn “To God Be the Glory” together. What a wonderful way to end our morning together, praising our Lord for what He has done for us. Wendy closed in prayer.
