MISSION PARTNER UPDATE - BUTTERFLY MINISTRY
One of CCSW’s mission partners is Butterfly Ministry, a local outreach to women in prostitution.
"Our call to war, to love the captive soul
But to rage against the captor.
And with the sword that makes the wounded whole,
We will fight with faith and valour."
This past Sunday, our hearts were stirred and challenged by the reminder that our God has not changed. He still builds His kingdom, saving and redeeming the lost, through the prayers and humble obedience of His children, wherever they find themselves.
Lindsay Harvey, a missionary from the USA and also part of our church family, told us more about Butterfly Ministry between the services last Sunday.
God has grown the work from its simple beginning. It has grown from meetings and prayer times with 2 believers at the side of the road, to "Chicken and Church" Bible studies with the ladies at a nearby KFC, to a dedicated group of female volunteers, old and young, who minister to the ladies faithfully every Thursday morning, feeding their bodies, minds and spirits. In partnership with established ministries such as Straatwerk in Parow, they support the women’s exit from prostitution.
