GOLDEN OLDIES - YEAR END CELEBRATION

The Golden Oldies met for the final time this year on Tuesday, as a special end-of-year Christmas celebration. There was an extra-special, delicious spread of tea-time treats served by the wonderful team of women behind-the-scenes.

In addition, there was a vibrant and fun programme called “Our favourite things” put together by a group of teenagers from CCSW, especially for the occasion

The programme included piano performances, dancers, singing, a recital and a devotion.  The devotion highlighted Paul’s apprentice, Timothy, and the role that his grandmother and mother had in nurturing his faith.

The Golden Oldies were thanked for the role that they play as older women in our church family.   They were encouraged to keep going as they live out their faith in view of their children and grandchildren.

A collection was also taken for the 4THE1 ministry (Tracey Elliot) at Sir Lowry’s Pass Village, and R1000 was raised for that ministry.

All praise and glory to God for how He’s gifted us as His church family with different gifts and resources, so that we can encourage and spur one another on in our Christian lives.

“I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.” – 2 Timothy 1: 5

The Golden Oldies is a ministry for women over 75 years of age.  For more info, please contact Di Gilbert on 072 303 1478
