MINISTRY COMMUNITY MEETING / AGM
On Wednesday evening of this past week, we met together at church for our annual MCM / AGM.
The purpose of this meeting is to update the church on the various ministries and key events over the past year, and thank God for His faithfulness to us as a church. It is also the forum for official AGM church business. The evening started with us singing “Jesus shall reign” – such an appropriate reminder of who’s in charge of building His church! Rob Clover then gave a very encouraging update on the church finances. This was followed by updates from Sean, Johan, Esther and Hakeem. Ramon gave us an update on how his studies at GWC are going, and Freddy Ward gave an update on Missions.
Finally, Gavin spoke about hosting SYNOD last year, the numerical growth of the church (touching on future staffing needs) and the plans for installing solar power. The evening ended with official AGM business. This included voting on re-election of the People’s Warden, Stephen Quirke, as well as voting a new member to our Church Council – Lindsay Visser. Both these votes passed. We finished the evening by singing “O Lord my Rock and my Redeemer”.
The full minutes of the meeting will be available in due course. Please join us in thanking God for the year that has passed and join us in praying for our plans for the future under Him.
“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” – Colossians 3: 17
