RELATIONSHIPS BLOSSOMING AT BLOOM
Last Saturday morning around 40 women got together at CCSW to explore Matthew 25 – “The parable of the talents”. We had two “pockets” of time with a break for refreshments in-between. The table of treats that the women brought to share was overflowing with deliciousness!
In the first “pocket” of time, we spent time seeking to understand what Jesus was teaching his original hearers in this parable - that is, the disciples on the Mount of Olives. We spent time exploring the context, the purpose and the meaning of the teaching. In the second “pocket”, we spent time discussing how Jesus’s teaching applies to us today. For example - what are the unique challenges that we face as women as we seek to be “good and faithful servants” of Jesus? How does Jesus challenge us to rethink our “talents” (resources) in view of his call on our lives? It was a really stimulating and challenging time together. The BLOOM ministry for women seeks to encourage growth in relationships – both with each other and with the God that we serve.
Our next get-together will be the REACH WOMEN Conference on Saturday 19th August. The plan is to travel to the Conference at St James Church together, and enjoy a special morning with women from across Cape Town!
